District Camporee 2024

Details:

Summer Camp in a Day at Camp Rock Enon! Join other scouts in our new Burke Lake District to attend Summer Camp in a Day! All the fun of summer camp in just one weekend. Activities include:

  • Astronomy

  • Aquatics (Canoe. rowboat)

  • Climbing (climbing wall, rockface challenge)

  • Cooking Contest

  • Fishing

  • Merit Badges (American Heritage, Astronomy, Fishing, Photography)

  • Shooting Sports (Archery, Shotgun, Rifle, Slingshot, Tomohawk

  • Other Activities (Confidence Course, Handicraft/Basketry, Gaga Ball, Volleyball)

  • Scout Advancement

    • Tenderfoot: 3a-b, 4a​

    • 2nd Class: 2a-c, 2f-g, 6a, 3a-b*

    • 1st Class: 3a-d, 5b-d, 7a-c

  • Adult Training! - Scoutmaster Specific Training

* To reduce wait times, above activities will be through registration upon arrival at camp. More information coming.

In addition to the activities above, more activities include:

- Saturday evening campfire

- Saturday evening movie under the stars

- Camp Honor Troop competition 

Dates: Fri, Oct 18 - Sun, Oct 20

Meet: Scouts will meet at St. George’s Church at 5 PM on Friday. Eat dinner before you come or bring with you. Pick up at the University Mall Giant Parking Lot at noon on Sunday.

Fee / Dates: This is a tiered pricing for early bird, regular, and late registration (camporee pricing) - 

  • Early Bird - $45 - by Sept 5

  • Regular - $55 - by Oct 12

  • Late- $65 - after Oct 12

* Special note on 2nd class 3b, the requirement includes a 5 mile hike and is expected to take approximately 4 hours to include the hike and compass/navigation instructions. The hike is one of the most beautiful in Virginia. It starts at the camp and goes to the pinnacle, rising in elevation by over 1,000 feet and then returning. The view at the top is breathtaking. Scouts and adults are encouraged to take the hike even if they do not need credit for the requirements.
